The Provincial Governance Strengthening Programme (PGSP) has announced that residents of Warihito, located on the border of Wainoni West and Bauro East in Makira-Ulawa Province, are eagerly awaiting the completion of the Nahabo Market Building.

A statement from PGSP on Monday said this new market will provide a safe and central trading space for farmers, fishers, and small vendors who currently sell along the Warihito River bank.

PGSP said once completed, it is expected to improve accessibility during the rainy season and provide opportunities for locals to gain more income by selling fresh produce, fish, and other goods in a proper marketplace.

Community members believe the project will boost economic activity and strengthen trade between villages in both Wainoni West and Bauro East.

The initiative is supported by Provincial Capacity Development Fund and Integrated Economic Development and Community Resilience (PCDF-IEDCR) through the Makira-Ulawa Provincial Government (MUPG).
