Malu’u Police in Malaita province will step up their operations to crack down on the high number of anti-social activities reported in surrounding communities.

Malaita Provincial Police Commander, Superintendent Michael Ramosaea told Island Sun this week that he will send his Police Response Team (PRT) from Auki to the Malu’u station to arrest and charge those involved in such unwanted social activities.

“Yes, since we have high cases reported from that area, I will send our PRT officers to Malu’u station to conduct their operations there,” he said.

“Sometimes it causes fear among the women and children in the communities,” he added.

Ramosaea appeals to community leaders and chiefs to work together with police in Malu’u to arrest those who are engaging in such activities.

“I appeal to community leaders and chiefs to please work together with our police officers to handle those who are tempted to engage in such social activities in their communities,” he said.
