Prime Minister Jeremiah Manele has reaffirmed the Solomon Islands Government’s commitment to stability and national unity, highlighting support for sports as a key part of bringing the nation together.

Speaking to the media yesterday, Mr Manele announced that the Solomon Islands Government is providing SBD 4 million in support of the Solomon Kings football team.

“Football is a force of unity and stability in our nation, and this support reflects one of the GNUT Government’s policy pillars: stability and unity,” he said.

Mr Manele encouraged all Solomon Islanders to continue cheering for the Solomon Kings as they progress to the next leg of the Pro-League.

“I was happy to watch both of their games while they were in Honiara, and I urge our people to continue supporting them wherever the league takes them,” he said.

On behalf of the Government, the Prime Minister wished the Solomon Kings all the best in their upcoming matches, emphasising that sports play an important role in bringing communities together.
