Four Solomon Islands cricket representatives selected for ICC tutor course in Brisbane

Four representatives from the Solomon Islands Cricket Federation (SICF) will travel to Brisbane, Australia, next month to attend an International Cricket Council (ICC) coaching education programme which aims to strengthen cricket development across the region.
The announcement was made by Solomon Islands Cricket Federation President Sajeewa Liyanage through the federation’s official social media platform, confirming that he will be joined by Mary Tarivali, Carlton Tisa and Deep Rabari for the ICC Level 1 and Level 2 Tutor Courses scheduled for August 4–6.
Liyanage described the opportunity as an important achievement for cricket in the Solomon Islands.
“This is a significant milestone for cricket in the Solomon Islands.
“The knowledge, skills, and international experience we gain through this program will play an important role in developing our coaches, players, and the future of cricket across our nation,” the statement said.
According to the federation, the four-member delegation is committed to returning home with valuable coaching knowledge that will strengthen grassroots cricket programmes and help inspire the next generation of Solomon Islands cricketers.
The delegation will also represent Solomon Islands alongside participants from Fiji, Papua New Guinea, Samoa, Vanuatu, Indonesia, Japan and the Philippines, highlighting the regional nature of the ICC coaching programme.
The federation thanks everyone who has contributed to the continued growth of cricket in the country.
“We sincerely thank everyone who has supported the growth of cricket in the Solomon Islands. Your encouragement and belief in our vision continue to make opportunities like this possible,” the statement said.
Supporters are also called to keep the delegation in their thoughts as they proudly represent the country.
“Together, we are building the future of cricket in the Solomon Islands,” the statement concluded.
The ICC regularly delivers coach education and tutor development programmes across its member nations to improve coaching standards and build local capacity.
The Brisbane course is designed to equip participants with advanced coaching and tutor education skills that can be shared within their respective countries.
For the Solomon Islands Cricket Federation, the programme represents another important step in its long-term commitment to expand grassroots cricket and develop qualified local coaches capable of growing the game throughout the country.
