THE Solomon Kids Basketball Academy (SKBA) has successfully completed the first half of 2018 with their annual academy tournament at the Chung Wah School.
The academy finished day 10 of the competition Thursday last week with the finals play offs for the junior boys and girls category, the mix gender category and the high schools boys’ competition.
Results from the final day of competition last week saw Bulls junior boys’ team finishing in first position followed by Doggz while Superstars finished first in the junior girls category.

Golden State Warriors finished first place in the mix gender category while Timberwolves secured first position in the High School boy’s category.
Speaking during the prize and presentation ceremony last week SKBA Co-Founder and Coach Moses Kivo thanked the companies who stepped forward to support the hosting of the competition, families, volunteers, academy participants and Chung Wah School administration for allowing their premises to host the SKBA program.
“Thank you to Solomon Sheet Steel, Qualitech Accessories Limited, CBSI, Solomon Telekom and Pacific Casino Hotel for supporting the competition,” Coach Kivo said.

“Thank you also to the families, Island Sun newspaper for promoting the program and most of all to Chung Wah School for allowing us the venue.
“A big thank you also to the following senior basketball players Timmy Magi, Cecil Loti and Henry Kavuru who came out to volunteer their time officiate the competitions and also special acknowledgement to Davidson Toliliu, SKBA U17 Coach.
“Looking ahead SKBA is working towards securing more support and sponsorship, as they try to roll the program out to as many kids in Honiara as possible before end of 2018,” he adds.
The SKBA program meanwhile will take a break to allow their members to prepare for their school mid-year exams and holidays and will resume after the June holiday.
