The Solomon Islands National University (SINU) will offer free Japanese language classes from late August 2026 through a partnership between its Faculty of Business and Tourism Studies (FBTS) and the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).
In a statement issued yesterday, SINU said the programme is open to students, staff and members of the public who are interested to learn the Japanese language.
According to SINU, classes will be offered at three levels. Level One will focus on basic greetings and simple expressions, Level Two will build participants’ vocabulary and everyday conversation skills, and Level Three will help learners use more expressions in daily life and travel situations.
SINU said the classes will be conducted during daytime hours, with weekday classes tentatively scheduled for Levels One to Three and Saturday classes for Levels One and Two.
The university said all classes will be held at the School of Tourism and Hospitality Management at its Kukum Campus.
SINU encourages interested participants to join its Japanese Language Class Facebook Group for registration details, class schedules and future updates.
