THE Solomon Islands Basketball Federation (SIBF) has unveiled the competition structure and prizes for the upcoming senior basketball league, which is set to tip off later this month at the Honiara City Council (HCC) Multipurpose Hall.

According to the SIBF, the league will feature three divisions: Men’s A Division, Men’s B Division, and Women’s Division, with registration currently open to all interested basketball clubs.

“We are excited to announce that registration for the 2024 Solomon Islands Basketball Men’s and Women’s League is now open,” the SIBF said in a statement. “We invite all teams to sign up and be a part of the action.”

The registration process is convenient, with forms accessible online via a provided link or through hand delivery. Interested teams can fill out the form and submit it along with the registration fee to the Basketball Office at Farmset Building in Ranadi or to any current Board Member. The deadline for registration is July 15th.

The SIBF has also planned a launching event and fundraising dinner on July 27th at Cowboys grill to further boost preparations for the league. Tables for the fundraising event are priced at $10,000.00.

“We encourage teams to submit their registration forms along with the full payment and team registration list,” the SIBF added. “The registration fees for the Men’s A Division is $3,000.00, while the Men’s B Division and Women’s Division are set at $2,000.00 each.”

As an added incentive, the SIBF has announced special prizes for outstanding players, including a Women’s Most Valuable Player (MVP) award with a cash prize of $2,000.00.
