The Atoifi Adventist Hospital in East Kwaio, Malaita Province, launched and opened the national health expo on Monday at the hospital.
The launch of the programme was in line with the Ministry of Health, which also launched its event in Honiara.
The programme will run through this week and conclude on Friday, May 15.
Alrick Naisi said the national health expo aims to conduct health screenings and detect Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs), as well as provide early treatment and referrals.
He said the health expo will help to fight against Non-Communicable Diseases in the country.
“All nearby communities and villages, individuals, and families surrounding Atoifi are invited to come and check their health status,” he said.
According to the Atoifi Adventist Hospital’s official online page, the open programme is free and is an opportunity for the people of Atoifi and the nearby catchment communities.
“We are excited to announce that a health expo will be happening here at Atoifi Adventist Hospital starting today and running through to Friday.
“This is a wonderful opportunity for everyone within the Atoifi catchment communities to come and receive free health checkups.
“Taking care of our health is very important. It’s best to check and know our health status early so we can make positive changes and take good care of the precious life God has given us,” he said.
They encourage the people of East Kwaio to attend, as it is very important to know their health status.
“Don’t miss this chance to prioritise your health. If you have concerns or questions about your well-being, we warmly welcome you to come and get checked.
“We look forward to seeing you here at Atoifi Adventist Hospital this week. May God speak to your heart and guide you,” he said.
