The Solomon Islands Meteorological Services (SIMS) weather forecasting office has projected some unstable weather for most of the provinces during the week.

While there is no weather warning, the SIMS confirmed in its weekly weather outlook for this week that a trough lies just south of the Solomon Islands.

The SIMS weekly weather outlook, issued on Sunday, 28th, December 2025 indicates that the trough is expected to move over the country’s region and will bring unstable weather affecting most provinces.

Based on the SIMS brief update on the weather on Saturday, 27th December, the Weather satellite showed a few clouds over the region.

The SIMS said clouds will bring isolated showers to parts of the country, but generally the weather should remain mostly fine, with no warnings.

“Outlook for the next few days towards New Year’s Eve. Expect a trough (area of unstable weather) to bring some cloudy and wet weather conditions possible in the next few days towards New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day for most of our provinces,” said SIMS.
