The countdown to the 2026 Honiara Netball Association (HNA) League has officially begun, with the Association confirming that the new season will tip off on May 30.
In a series of announcements on its official platform, HNA outlined a structured legal and technical compliance roadmap designed to ensure all clubs, officials and stakeholders are fully prepared ahead of the new campaign.
“We are thrilled to announce that the HNA Netball League is officially scheduled to kick off on 30 May 2026,” the association statement said.
The announcement, headlined “Setting the Standard for HNA 2026”, emphasized that preparations will go beyond on-court readiness.
“To ensure every match is fair, safe, and professionally managed, we are rolling out our Legal and Technical Compliance roadmap. This is about more than just paperwork; it’s about building a professional foundation for the sport we love”, HNA said.
As part of the build-up, several key dates have been confirmed.
An Umpires Association formation meeting is scheduled for Saturday 28 February, with venue and time to be confirmed. This will be followed by Umpires Training on Saturday 7 March and Bench Officials Training on Saturday 14 March.
The Association will also conduct Club Constitution Reviews on Saturday 21 March to ensure all affiliated clubs meet updated 2026 legal standards.
“On Saturday, 21 March, we will focus on ensuring every club’s constitution meets our updated 2026 legal standards.
“The President will be emailing all club leads directly with specific details, required documents, and individual review times. Please keep a close eye on your inbox,” HNA said.
HNA is calling on all stakeholders to take the compliance process seriously, stressing that proper governance and technical preparation will lay the foundation for a successful and competitive season.
“Let’s ensure we are compliant, trained, and ready to make this the best season yet”, the HNA statement said.
With just over three months remaining before the first centre pass, anticipation is building among clubs and supporters as HNA works behind the scenes to deliver what promises to be a professionally managed and vibrant 2026 league season.
