âIu minim kaen type ia,â expressed Doorman Projectâs (DMP) lead vocals and ragamuffin David Fafale or known better by stage name âEvin Rushâ quoting from the bandâs initial hit song back in the early 2000s.
The four-man boy band reached the peak of their musical career, dominating the top spots in the international online music platform Djooky during its recent spring season â creating a history in the global music competition.
âIt was through our passion and commitment creating and making music we reached this far, âiu minim! Rush jokingly said.
âThe boys would like to thank the fans and families who have been supporting us since day one, and we promise to keep making music.
Fafale continued that itâs time for the national government to also recognize the achievement of musicians in the country.

âThere should be a national initiative to assist local musicians because we are ambassadors to the world of music,â Fafale said.
DMP won for the Best Reggae song in both the seasonâs competition and MOSSA (Mostyn Hani) won the BEST Afro Beat and Blood P2A in 8th spot.
âThis was the second time we made it to the continental finals,â DMPâs band manager and promoter Australian DJ Victor Lopez told Weekend Sun.
âThis is the worldâs biggest online song contest â we didnât win the main prize but we came close too close,â DJ Lopez expressed.
DMP comprised of solo artists Blad P2A and MOSSA also fashioned into the global scene respectively.
âThis season the boys made it to the Top 18 finalists,â DJ Lopez emphasized.
The band competed in the national round where the top 3 bands will have to secure their spot in the Oceania Continental round against top bands in Australia and Papua New Guinea.

âNow all three from the Solomon Islands have made it into the top continental round going head-to-head with top 3 bands in Africa, Asia, North America, Europe and South America.
Djooky music domination covers over 129 countries and engaged over 2369 nominations â which prompted DJ Lopez to call for public support towards the bandâs campaign through online voting in the next season which is in three months.
âWe wanted to get the people in the Solomon Islands to know and support by voting us.
âSolomon Islands were the only country to have all three in the finals, first in the history of the competition for 3 artists from the same country.
âI was the only one promoting this thatâs why Iâm asking for help for the next season so I can get these boys and Solomon music to the world,â DJ Lopez said.
He admitted that luck of support in the latest season the boys lost to Philippines artist who has signed with Sony music.
âThe Philippine artist was like their Justine Bieber, so the whole country voted for him but we came close to beating him and Iâm proud of the guys,â says DJ Lopez.
Djooky Co-founderBrian Malouf shared with the Australian Channel 9 News the incentives behind the music streaming podium.
âDjooky is a music streaming platform, people from all over the world small corners of the world that needed their voice to get their music out there, their music heard first by a small group of people and then by eventually expanding,â Malouf stated.
âThis spring season second and third place winners are from a place called the Solomon Islands, I donât know if any band there has already gone worldwide from that country, but DMP have reached their pinnacle at the Djooky platform and hopefully that can be a springboard for them to go further.
Malouf is an American producer, engineer, and mixer who has worked with acts such as Michael Jackson, Queen, Madonna, Pearl Jam and Stevie Wonder to name a few.
Meanwhile, DMP has recently signed with the biggest independent reggae label âineffable recordsâ out in Los Angeles, United States of America (USA) and is due to release their first single from the new album.
Ineffable Records just released the âCali Roots Riddim 2021â project which includes our new single âEverybody Waitingâ produced by Collie Buddz and Johnny Cosmic from Stick Figure. The project consists of 27 versions from the best reggae artists in the world including Alborosie, Anthony B, Konshens, Kabaka Pyramid, Kolohe Kai, Demarco & Turbulence.
