Weightlifter receive Queen’s award

Solomon Islands Weightlifting Queen Jenly Tegu Wini was amongst recipients of the Queen’s Birthday Medal For services to sport in the field of weightlifting.

Born in 1983, now 38 years old, Ms Wini is an athlete, in the field of weightlifting. She had represented Solomon Islands in both regional and international competitions in the Oceania, Pacific, Commonwealth Games, Olympic Games and World Championships.

In all her competitions she had won more than 30 golds, 20 silver medals, and four bronze medals in her career – a great role model for the youths in Solomon Islands, and an inspiration to all women and girls in Solomon Islands.

She is still performing in her weightlifting career.
